Weird Al Yankovic Sues Sony Music

3.4.12

Funnyman Weird Al Yankovic has sued Sony Music Entertainment for $5 million.

Weird Al’s suit alleges that Sony performed multiple mishaps including: taking improper recoupments resulting in royalty underpayments, violating a licensing agreement they shared with Weird Al, and not sharing the multi-millions received from lawsuit settlements dealing with sites like Napster, Kazaa and Grokster.

Yankovic’s representation will be Richard Busch, a partner at a Nashville-based firm who has successfully sued Universal Music, and represented famed musicians Peter Frampton and Kenny Rogers.
Hmm.
